The renovation or restoration of your wooden floors to their original, natural splendour is something that we specialise in at Oxford City Sanding.
If your wooden floor has become neglected and worn over time or simply buried beneath layers of carpets, treatments and finishes our floor sanding team take pride in returning your floor to its former glory.
The process starts with the removal of the old surface finish and then repairing any damage using fillers or replacement boards. At this stage a choice of stains can be applied if required. We endeavour where possible to only use water based solvent free stains.
The final stage is the application of the new seal or hard wax oil to give your floor its new protection. This will be applied in 2 to 3 coats depending on which product is used.
The trick to the renovation and restoration of old flooring is precision, achieving an almost perfect grain match and getting the reclaimed sections to the right colour. This can only be achieved through a combination of the best of modern technology, traditional techniques and of course the correct choice of wood and experienced technician.

Maintenance
Our maintenance & re-sealing service can provide a very cost-effective approach to increasing the lifespan of your wooden floor, without the need of a full sanding process.
Periodic maintenance is a fast and non-intrusive method that ensures continual protection of the wood floor surface and keeps it looking fresh. Experience has shown us that renewing the protective seal every 2 years can protect the timber floor and in turn protect from the ingress of dirt and moisture and prevent discolouration.
This process involves professional cleaning with specialist equipment and solutions, designed to remove surface dirt. Your floor is then neutralised, lightly abraded, thoroughly vacuumed and then resealed with an appropriate and recommended sealant from a leading manufacturer.
We are able to supply all types of surface finishes that include water based lacquers, natural oils and hard wax oils.

Sanding
If your wooden floor has become worn and tired and a maintenance clean will not be enough to bring the floor back to its original beauty then please contact us. We can sand and refurbish solid, engineered and parquet wood floors. We use the best specialist equipment and machinery to fully re-sand your floor producing a 90% dust free service. We will consult with you and offer advice on stains, lacquers and oils and offer a free on site sample service so that you can see which finish would look best on your actual floor. We find that this is far more accurate than showing you stock samples as it is more realistic to your floor.
